Ecobunker Shipping Co., Ltd., was established in November 2018 with the aim of promoting LNG (liquefied natural gas) as the most promising transitional energy option to achieve the goal of “reducing total GHG emission. As of now, approximately 700 LNG-fueled vessels are under operation, and the number is expected to reach 1,300 by 2030.
We are also committed to the realization of ship ownership and operation under the “Ship-to-Ship (STS) LNG bunkering project in Tokyo Bay,” which has been adopted as part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s initiative to establish LNG bunkering hubs in Japan. This effort is being carried out with the valuable support of relevant government agencies, local governments, and various institutions.
Our JV partners, Uyeno Transtech, Sumitomo Corporation, Yokohama Kawasaki International Port, and the Development Bank of Japan, are business companies in different fields. By clearly dividing roles and leveraging each other’s strengths, we aim to create synergy effects and form a LNG bunkering hub in Tokyo Bay, contributing to the global spread of LNG fuel, reducing the environmental impact of the shipping industry, achieving SDGs and a decarbonized society, and enhancing the international competitiveness of our country’s ports.
We will strive to provide better services and sincerely appreciate your continued support and patronage.
